Ladybug Book Award
Students in grades K through 3 helped to choose this school year's NH Ladybug Award winner by reading (listening to) 10 books nominated for this yearly state picture book award. After reading all of the books, each student cast a private vote for the book they liked the best. All votes were then sent to the state committee to be included with student votes from around the state. Over 22,000 votes were cast! The winner of this year's

During this unit, students participated in several activities connected to the Ladybug award program. Mrs. Noon and Mrs. Lindsey teamed up to make the program fun and educational. Using critical & creative thinking skills, students created journals depicting each book with art & written opinions. They created bookmarks, developed graphs using voting data from each class and, they enjoyed delightful treats baked by PTO moms. Look below to enjoy a picture slide show of some of these activities.
The Great Stone Face Book Award
Students in grades 4 through 6 have a chance to help choose the state choice for the Great Stone Face Book Award. Twenty-five books have been nominated. Students are required to read a minimum of five of these books before they can vote in April. The following books are the 25 books nominated:
